On September 20th, the 16th edition of the BulEF scientific conference opened in Varna, at the “Golden Sands” resort, organized by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Technical University of Sofia. The event, held annually since 2009, is a key meeting for the sector, with international participation.

Among the noteworthy presentations was that of Engineer Plamen Dilkov, who presented a paper titled “Analysis of the effect of the use of mobile bulb-turbines in the hydropower utilization of the water potential of the Danube River: Technical characteristics of the generation unit.” His presentation attracted significant interest from the participants due to its innovative approach to the use of the Danube’s hydropower resources.

The BulEF 2024 conference addresses crucial topics for the energy sector, such as energy efficiency, renewable energy, lighting systems, and process analysis. It is attended by professors, researchers, and students from various universities, along with representatives from leading Bulgarian energy companies and electricity distribution firms.
