On October 8th, a roundtable discussion was held at the ETEM Sofia Showroom - “Capital Fort” on the topic “The Italian experience in the practice of the architecture profession and continuing education,” aimed at sharing professional experiences and best practices in the field of architecture and construction.

The event was organized by the Chamber of Architects in Bulgaria, in collaboration with Confindustria Bulgaria, and was made possible thanks to the support of Bulgaria Engineering EAD and GTT. Active participation was taken by guests including Eng. Plamen Dilkov, Giovanni Martinelli, and Eng. Kiril Savov, along with Italian colleagues from the Trentino Circle for Contemporary Architecture.

The main topic of the technical discussion was continuing education, which ensures professional development and the quality of design services in the public interest. Continuing education is mandatory; if architects and engineers have not completed their annual training, they are not allowed to continue working in their specialty, and their files are sent to the disciplinary committee.

Additionally, there was a discussion on the digitalization in the field of architecture and construction, including the introduction of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in Bulgaria. BIM represents an exceptional opportunity to facilitate construction activities and investment. The benefits extend not only to the design and construction phases but also to the building management process.
